z/TPF Introduction for
Operators
Overview
This 3 day course is designed to give a technical overview to the z/TPF
System to new operators. It can also be useful for existing
operators who have moved into the role with no formal training and
would like a better understanding of z/TPF Fundamentals.
This class can be combined with a 2 day Dump Analysis class to give an
excellent technical introduction for new operations staff.
Pre-requisites
None.
Audience
Operators who are required to operator have an understanding of the
fundamentals of a z/TPF System.
Student Numbers
The
maximum recommended student to instructor ratio is 12:1
Objectives
By the end of the course, the delegates will be able, with the aid of
course notes to:

List the different system configurations available
to a z/TPF System

Identify the major Lists in the CPU Loop and their
usage
·
List the different types of z/TPF Files
·
List the differences between a Message and a
Transaction
·
List the usage of utilities such as Recoup, PDU,
Capture/Restore
·
Interpret the output from various Z Messages
