Introduction to CMS Pipelines
Overview
This 2 day course is designed to introduce the delegates to the use of
CMS Pipelines. With more recent versions of VM these have replaced
EXECIO as the standard method of I/O when writing REXX programs. This
course gives students an introduction to CMS Pipelines and includes
many hands on exercises and can be given to existing REXX programmers
or taught as part of the Introduction to REXX
class.
Pre-requisites
Experience of coding in REXX or completion of the introductory REXX
class.
Audience
Staff who would like to automate repetitive tasks on VM and wish to
read and write files in CMS.

Objectives
By the end of the course, the delegates will be able, with the aid of
course notes to:

Code REXX Execs using CMS Pipelines.
·
Identify the correct stage driver to use for
processing information.
·
Use CMS Pipelines from the CMS Command line
·
Create new files and append to existing files.
